Summer Camp

Seven Arrows Summer Camp in Temescal Gateway Park, Pacific Palisades, is designed to inspire the campers' imaginations to fly... to have their minds travel the globe and discover a world outside their own. All of our activities are done in the Roots & Wings tradition of learning by doing, while building self-confidence; all of our activities are age appropriate and are designed for hands-on learning. Our summer camp program is structured to encourage development of positive feelings toward learning, while leading to an acquisition of knowledge and skills. Our ultimate goal is to HAVE FUN!

Travel Guides
Seen Arrows Summer Camp 2007 Travel Guides will come to us from many walks of life. Some are teachers during the school year, some are recent college graduates, some are still attending college, some are returning to Seven Arrows Summer Camp and some are new, but all our Tavel Guides have a love of working with children and a desire to work hard while they "guide" the campers on their travels. All Guides have First Aid and CPR training, all carry first-aid fanny packs with walkie-talkies, and all Guides and staff are instructed as to the emergency procedures in place in Temescal Gateway Park. Each Guide is assigned a Junior Guide to assist in duties and resposibilities and in guiding the campers throughout the travel day.

Travel Specialists
To enhance the experience of each travel destination, Seven Arrows brings along a Travel Theatre specialist, a Travel Art specialist, and a Travel Chef specialist, all of whom impart their knowledge of each destination to the campers through music, improv, dance, art and food. The Fulcrum Ropes Course is a special addition to Summer Camp, the teachers from Fulcrum teach the campers to attain "new heights", both in physical space and in learning team cooperation and self-esteem. Seven Arrows invites the campers' parents on the last Thursday of each travel session to quietly watch as the campers "climb the ropes" and "walk the beam". Bring your video camera!

"No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings." George Scialabra
